International standard school is a national school level in Indonesia with international quality standards. The process of teaching and learning in this school emphasizes the development of creativity, innovation, and experimentation to stimulate new ideas that have never existed.

An International school is loosely defined as a school that promotes international education, either by adopting an international curriculum such as that of the International Baccalaureate, or by following a national curriculum different from that of the country the school is located in. These schools cater mainly to students who are not nationals of the host country, such as the children of the staff of international businesses, international organizations, foreign embassies, missions, or missionary programs. Many local students attend these schools to learn the language of the international school and to obtain qualifications for employment or higher education in a foreign country. International schools can be either private or public. In April 2007 there were 4,179 ‘English-speaking international schools’(From Wikipedia)

Curriculum in International school

International schools typically use curricula based on the school's country of origin. The most common international schools represent Education in the United Kingdom or Education in the United States. Many international schools use curricula specially designed for international school such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education or the IB Diploma program. Like other schools, international schools teach the subjects such as language arts, mathematics, the sciences, humanities, the arts, physical education, information technology, and design technology. More recent developments specifically for primary school include the IB's Primary Years program (PYP) and the fast growing International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The International Preschool Curriculum (IPC) is increasingly being adopted by early year departments of international schools and international preschools(From Wikipedia)

The origin of the SBI

SBI development in Indonesia is based on Law no. 20 Year 2003 on National Education System Article 50 Paragraph 3. In this provision, the government is encouraged to develop an international educational unit.

The international standard is required in SBI Graduates Competency Standards, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning process HR, Facilities, Management, Financing, and Valuation of international standards. In SBI, the process of learning and teaching are delivered in two languages in English and Indonesian language

Differences and advantages of this international school compared to other schools the difference is far from everyday language that is used to clock the subjects added in order to compete with developing education in the international arena, but one side because it is often concerned with language with the use of learning English in an Indonesian subjects like starting excluded from the education system in Indonesia and perhaps someday maple Indonesian language became compulsory subject will be removed from the process of education in Indonesia today.

Relations with the World Education

Actually, in Indonesia a lot of international schools, I think that's good because in this era of globalization we as a developing country should attempt to advance, one way to create an international school, but what's the point if the school was labeled only international school but a way of teaching and results obtained the same or even lower than the national standard school, should every school will become an international school in the test more carefully again. Is it really worth it? If it does not deserve the government should not approve the school has become an international school.
